Irish Bus Services

I was back in Cork for two weeks after my trip to Angola, and now I've been posted in Limerick for 2 weeks doing my ENT rotation. Not much going on out here but had a "shocking" (as in the Irish sense of the word) experience coming up from Cork.

Our bus stopped half way to Limerick to drop off some passengers but then the engine quit. The driver tried a few times but just couldn't start her up. It was only 3 yrs old so surprising that it would break down so soon. After 20min he gave up and called for another bus to come pick us up. The driver finally figured out what was wrong but was too ashamed to tell the passengers. A little while later, word got out that the bus ran out of gas!

fyi.. it was Bus Eireann. They gave us no compensation for having to wait 2hrs for the second bus to arrive. Travel with the competitors if you have the option.
